General Laborer (SALT LAKE CITY AREA)
Position Description
GENERAL LABORER JOB DESCRIPTION
SALARY/ PAY: $18.00 - $20.00 HOURLY (Wage determined by experience verified by references and upon completion of interview).
REPORTS TO: Laborer position reports to; Jobsite Foreman, Project Manager, & Office Management.
SUMMARY/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(Laborer role, mainly but
not limited to;)

Reports directly
to Job Foreman daily.
·
Completes tasks
assigned for excavation and construction of underground utility sitework, often
working in trenches.
·
Effectively
completes all jobs assigned within the designated time limit.
·
Must maintain a
clean and safe work area. Identifies hazards associated with task assignments
and asks questions when clarification is needed.
·
Comply with all
safety policies, practices and procedures.
·
Additionally, Laborer
supports pipe-layers, set up for dig, grading for pipe as well as attach
laterals, fittings, valves and curb inlets and lay pipe into trenches.
· Any other work as assigned by Foreman, Project Manager and/or Office Managers.
EXPERIENCE:
·
Entry level, no
experience required.
· Experience in a similar type of work, or working outdoors is a plus.
PHYSICAL/ ENVIRONMENTAL
DEMANDS
·
Ability to lift
at least 50 lbs. multiple times daily.
·
Competency and
awareness of surroundings to identify safety hazards.
·
Constant
standing, bending, shoveling and other miscellaneous manual labor.
·
Requires working
outside in the elements with constant exposure to dirt, dust and other
particles.
·
Exposure to hot
outdoor temperatures for up to 10 hours a day, along with direct sunlight.
·
Exposure to cold
weather and snowy conditions in the winter months.
• Employee is regularly required to sit,
climb, talk, hear, and use fingers.
EXPECTATIONS
This is a FULL-TIME position. Working hours will vary depending on the season, job site, and demand of work. Overtime is required and varies depending on the demand of work. Attendance is an essential function of this job. A successful candidate will have reliable transportation to and from the jobsite daily.
